4 Qul: The Four Surahs of the Quran that Start with Qul
The Quran is the word of Allah, revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). The Quran contains 114 chapters, or surahs, of varying lengths and themes. Some of these surahs are very short and easy to memorize, and they have great benefits and virtues for the believers.
Among these short surahs are four that start with the word Qul, which means \"Say\" in Arabic. These are Surah al-Kafirun (The Disbelievers), Surah al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity), Surah al-Falaq (The Daybreak), and Surah al-Nas (The Mankind). These four surahs are collectively known as the 4 Qul, or the 4 Kul Sharif.
The 4 Qul are mentioned in various hadiths, or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as having special merits and blessings. For example, it is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite these surahs before sleeping, and he advised his companions to do the same. He also said that whoever recites Surah al-Ikhlas ten times will get a palace in Paradise, and that Surah al-Kafirun is equal to one-fourth of the Quran.

The 4 Qul are also very effective in seeking protection from Allah against evil, harm, and mischief. They are a source of strength and comfort for the believers, as they affirm the oneness of Allah, His absolute perfection, His power over all things, and His refuge from all enemies. They also declare the rejection of all false gods, idols, and partners that people associate with Allah.
In this article, we will briefly explain the meaning and significance of each of these four surahs, and provide their Arabic text, transliteration, translation, and audio. We will also provide a link to download a PDF file of the 4 Qul with Urdu translation for those who want to read or print it.
Surah al-Kafirun (The Disbelievers)
Surah al-Kafirun is the 109th chapter of the Quran, and it consists of six verses. It was revealed in Makkah, when the polytheists of Quraish offered to compromise with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by worshipping his God for one year, if he would worship their gods for another year. Allah revealed this surah to reject their proposal and to declare the clear distinction between Islam and disbelief.
The surah begins with Allah commanding His Messenger (peace be upon him) to say to the disbelievers that he does not worship what they worship, nor do they worship what he worships. He then repeats this statement twice more, emphasizing that he will never worship what they worship, nor will they ever worship what he worships. He then concludes by saying that they have their own religion, and he has his own religion.
The surah teaches us that there is no compromise or negotiation when it comes to matters of faith and worship. Islam is the only true religion that Allah accepts from His servants, and He does not share His divinity or sovereignty with anyone or anything. The believers must adhere to Islam sincerely and exclusively, and avoid any association or resemblance with the disbelievers and their false beliefs.
